Non-Invasive Malaria Diagnostics
According to the latest WHO estimates, released in September 2015, there were 214 million cases of malaria in 2015 and 438,000 deaths. One of the greatest challenges to this epidemic is the ability to diagnose the disease in regions such as Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia where access to clinical facilities are limited if even existent. Rapid diagnostic kits are available on the market but limited to Yes/No results, easily affected by temperature and are too costly for NGOs. Ram Group is the first company in the world to introduce a completely non-invasive diagnostic device which can test for the disease through skin contact and provide extensive information on the patient and disease status, with the ratio of disease cells versus healthy red cells.
